The Meaning of the Astrological Houses

I will give you a brief meaning of the houses in an Astrology chart. There are 12 houses and only 10 planets so of course there will be empty houses in a chart. That means to me that house and what it represents is not going to have many lessons or be a focus this lifetime. Unless you have planets transiting that house, which certainly is possible over a lifetime. There are also 4 sensitive points in a chart. The ascendant, or the start of the 1st house in a chart. The IC or the lowest point in the chart, the beginning of the 4th house. The Descendant or the beginning of the 7th house. The mid-heaven or the highest point in a chart, the beginning of the 10th house. The ascendant represents our immediate environment,  how others see us, the persona we wear if the ascendant isn’t the same as our sun sign. If someone’s personal planets hits our ascendant they can have a big influence on us. We are very aware of them. The descendant is the house of others, has a lot to do with the relationships we create or wish to bring into our lives. The 7th house represents marriage and long-term partnerships, also business partnerships. If someones personal planets or the outer planets hits our descendant, it can either be an attraction or an aversion depending on the planets involved and the aspects to our natal chart. The IC or the lowest part of the chart, the beginning of the 4th house, represents where we are most vulnerable and hidden from the public. Whatever planets are in this area is very personal and only shared with those closest to us. If another’s planets hits this area we may feel exposed or uncomfortable again depending on the planets involved or we may feel supported or that the other person has a psychic connection to us. The mid-heaven is the highest point in the chart and has to do with how the public views us and our career, and how visible we are. If someones planets contact our mid-heaven, we are very aware of them for good or bad again depending on the planets involved. These four points in the chart are very important in chart comparisons and compatibility.
